Join us at the Poole Shanty Festival, it is a new event, and Haslefolk will be singing there
My name is Paula Curtis and I’m from sunny Hook. One day I got an email so thought I’d take a look. ‘Rob, from Barnet! I’m from there’ I thought and so read on. He’s starting up a shanty band, all sailors, sea and song. I love to sing although my kids would say I’m more a wailer. I love the sea and, obviously, who doesn’t love a sailor? So, here I am, in Haslefolk, with Cas and Dave and Rob And with Jon and Helen ‘clucking off’ we’re really quite a mob. So, ahoy me hearties, avast ye and a yo ho ho ho ho, For a piece of eight us jackanapes hope you’ll enjoy our show! We had a good rehearsal last night, practiising for our concert on 3rd March. Dave gave the good news that 41 tickets had already been sold
The 3 ladies Cas, Paula and Helen sang a new song with beautiful harmonies Dave told us that the International Sea Shanty Festival in Falmouth we have been selected to sing in is part of a Sea Festival including classic sailing ships. |
